Papers of Ezekiel Williams 1777-1790 are letters addressed to Ezekiel Williams (1729-1818) either as a member and chairman of the Wethersfield Committee of Correspondence in 1774 or as Deputy Commissary of prisoners within the State of Connecticut or as Sheriff of Hartford County. They detail some of his experiences with inmates, parole and exchange of prisoners. The letters are from various notable people such as Governor Jonathan Trumbull and Oliver Wolcott as well as family members such as Ezekiel’s brother, William. A fascinating read!
