Genealogical Library: Each year hundreds of researchers come to Wethersfield to search for their roots and to use our resources. Many others write to us with inquiries which volunteers answer. The library contains over 1,000 books including
genealogies on many of the major
Wethersfield families, local and regional histories, secondary source material, shelves of rare books, manuscripts, account books, logs, journals, newspapers, maps, charts and hundreds of photographs of town events, buildings and people.

The
Genealogical and Research Library is located at the
Old Academy building at 150 Main Street Wethersfield, Connecticut. The library is open Tuesday through Friday, 10-4. For extensive research, please call the office to make an appointment. Call (860) 529-7656. If you have a question, give us a try! Write to us at 150 Main St., Wethersfield, CT 06109 or
e-mail us. We do not charge for research, but do appreciate donations to support the care of the library.
BURIAL GROUND DATABASE
A searchable database of grave sites at the Wethersfield Ancient Burial Ground can be found at the following
link.
If your ancestor died in Wethersfield before the middle of the 18th century it is possible that they are buried in the Ancient Burying ground, but are unmarked by a headstone or foot stone. At the present time we do not know the location of these graves. There are only three stones from the 17th century in the Ancient Burial ground and they are all members of the Chester family.
CT STATE PRISON RECORDS
