The Board of Directors of Wethersfield Historical Society is delighted to announce that Julia Isenberg became the scociety’s Executive Director effective April 27, 2026.  

With more than fifteen years of experience in nonprofit leadership,fundraising, strategic communications, and program development, Julia will help WHS expand its reach, strengthen its resources, and foster meaningful engagement across Wethersfield’s diverse population. 

Currently an Arts Educator in Springfield, MA, Julia previously worked in development at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (Bronx), and Chapel Haven Schleifer Center (New Haven & New York). She has also worked in audience services at Capital Region Education Council and Hartford Stage.  

In her career, Julia has strengthened mission-driven organizations through strategic fundraising and relationship-building. She has led multimillion-dollar campaigns, secured transformational grants, and developed operational systems to ensure strong financial stewardship and long-term sustainability. 

Board Chair Dorene Ciarcia noted the search committee was “impressed with Julia’s experience in strategic fundraising and relationship building, vital skills needed in WHS’s efforts to grow its membership and donor base.”  

As a Wethersfield resident, Julia is excited to steward WHS, an organization with an essential role in preserving and sharing our community’s story. She looks forward to contributing to the future of WHS and the cultural and historical vibrancy of our town.
