This year’s Old Wethersfield Lantern Light Tours returns to in-person Friday, October 15th and Saturday, October 16th. Tours depart from the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109) and leave every 15 minutes between 6:30pm and 8:00pm. They cover approximately one mile over sometimes uneven terrain in dimly lit areas and are roughly one hour and ten minutes long. All the historical figures on this year’s tour are drawn from Wethersfield’s rich maritime history. Participants should dress accordingly for the weather and wear good walking shoes. Wethersfield’s mask mandate will be in effect for those parts of the tour that take place indoors. Due to the format and subject matter of the program, it is not recommended for children under the age of 13. Enjoy hot cider and cookies when you return to the Keeney. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date will be October 17. The final determination to postpone Saturday’s performances will be made by 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 16th. Ticket purchasers will be notified by email.
Timed tickets go on sale September 15th. They will be available online here or at the front desk of the Old Academy, 150 Main Street, Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 am – to 4:00pm. Be sure to purchase your tickets early as this popular event always sells out.
