Connecticut-based public historian, educator, and genealogist Sandra Taitt-Eaddy explores the relationship between Bridgetown Barbados and Wethersfield, two former colonial trading posts in her lecture Ties that Bind: The Bridgetown-Wethersfield Connection. In addition to her academic research, she will share her personal experiences with Connecticut’s tall ships and her migration from Barbados to Connecticut. Her lecture is a late addition to the Maritime Wethersfield Cultural Series given in conjunction with WHS’ current exhibit River, Land, and Sea: Wethersfield’s Maritime History.
Ms. Taitt-Eaddy will speak in Keeney Memorial Cultural Center Ballroom (200 Main Street, Wethersfield). Admission is $10 for the general public. Current Wethersfield Historical Society Members are admitted free of charge.
This program is sponsored by a grant from CT Humanities and the Robert Allan Keeney Memorial Fund at the Hartford Foundation of Public Giving.
