Welcome to Wethersfield Historical Society’s Calendar of Events page. The following list is essentially a “save the date” guide for upcoming society events and programming. Currently, WHS is hard at work scheduling an exciting 2026. Check this page often as information about specific events is added and updated as soon as it becomes available. We look forward to seeing you at many, if not all, of our program events this year.
Wethersfield Museum Hours
Our normal hours resume in April, when Tuesdays ( 10:00 am – 4:00 pm) will be added back into the schedule. As usual, the Cove Warehouse will reopen weekends in May. Due to ongoing restoration work, the Hurlbut-Dunham House will be open on select dates to be announced later.
Admission to the Wethersfield Museum is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

44th Annual Old Wethersfield Arts & Crafts Fair
Wethersfield Historical Society presents the 44th Annual Old Wethersfield Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, October 3 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Join us for a day of community, fun, and celebration on the beautiful grounds of Cove Park in the heart of the oldest and largest historic district in Connecticut. (Also the state’s most recently designated Cultural District). Browse hand-made items, shop for unique gifts, meet the artists, and watch demonstrations from over 90 juried artisans and vendors. There will be pottery, woodwork, prints, jewelry, textiles, and fabric art, painting, photography, and so much more. Free parking is available along State Street, and adjacent to the DMV. While Google gives the address of Cove Park as 533 Main Street, fair goers would be better served using the Solomon Wells House (220 Hartford Avenue) or the DMV (60 State Street) as a frame of reference.
Tickets are on sale now. Admission is $7, if purchased in advance. You can buy your tickets online through this link to EventBrite or you can save ticketing fees by purchasing your tickets in-person at the Old Academy (150 Main Street, Wethersfield) by cash or check. Admission on the day of the event is $10. Only cash is accepted at the gate. Current Wethersfield Historical Society Members and children under 12 accompanied by an adult are admitted free of charge. All proceeds from Craft Fair benefit the educational programming of Wethersfield Historical Society.

17th Annual Old Wethersfield Lantern Light Tours
Join Wethersfield Historical Society for the 17th Annual Old Wethersfield Lantern Light Tours on Friday, October 9, Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11. Characters on this year’s tours are drawn from the lives of real people who lived or worked in Wethersfield during the Revolutionary War. Tours depart from the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200 Main Street) every fifteen minutes between 6:30pm and 8:00pm. Tours will progress through the historic Hurlbut-Dunham House, First Church, and the Ancient Burying Ground. Tickets are $30.00 and are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased on EventBrite or in person at the Old Academy (150 Main Street) between 10am and 4pm, Tuesday through Friday. In-person sales are cash or check only. Ticket quantities are limited to 21 per tour, so get your tickets early. In the event of inclement weather, provisions have been made to conduct these tours indoors. There is no rain date.
