The 18th Annual Taste of Wethersfield benefit, held on Saturday, April 11th , was a resounding success and a wonderful time was had by all. No one went away hungry and a significant sum was raised in support of Wethersfield Historical Society’s educational programming. A special word of thanks is due to all the participating restaurants, brewers, and distillers who make this event possible and such a delectable taste treat for those in attendance.
Foodie, podcaster, cookbook author, and “Nacho King” Alex P. Taylor returned as emcee to keep the evening’s festivities and activities on schedule. The Hot Cat Jazz Band kept the hits coming all night long, with a set list of tunes spanning almost a hundred years. There was something for everybody. If your taste runs to the more visual, artists Don Carter aka Edgar Allen Slothman and Dora Dylanne Reyes ”Luvfish” were on site in the Watson Gallery, exhibiting the latest installment of their whimsical and popular Birds and Desserts series. (The exhibit will remain on view through April 18).
One of the best things about Taste is that it happens every year. If you were unable to join us this time out, make sure and keep your eyes open for this event coming next year in early April.
