In conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in the United States and Wethersfield Historical Society’s upcoming exhibit Women of Wethersfield, this year’s Old Wethersfield Lantern Light Tours features some of the women who have figured so prominently in Wethersfield’s extensive history. What is different about 2020’s edition is that, due to social distancing restrictions imposed by the current pandemic, this year’s tour is offered here in serialized form on the website. Each week a new video featuring a woman from Wethersfield’s past will be added until the tour is complete. If you are joining us a few weeks in, WHS recommends starting the tour with the first video.
This content was made possible in part by a grant from the Robert Allan Keeney Memorial Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and through the generosity of our members. Traditionally, Old Wethersfield Lantern Light Tours is a ticketed event. This year it is being offered to the public free of charge.
