Elizabeth Abbe is the Director of Public Outreach at the Connecticut Historical Society. Growing up, her family lived on Stillman Road in Wethersfield and she went to Charles Wright grammar school and Silas Dean middle school before moving to Glastonbury. Elizabeth graduated from Wells College and then received a Masters in Library Science at Simmons. From 1973 to 1985 she was the Library Director at CHS where she specialized in Connecticut genealogical resources. She then left for other opportunities, but returned to CHS 5 years ago to assume her current position. As Director of Public Outreach, she is responsible for the activities that generate interest and support in CHS.
Elizabeth and her husband, Terry Harlow, live in Glastonbury. She is active in Protectors of Animals and they currently have two rescued dogs. Their son Reed teaches at the Collegiate School in Manhattan.
